| Adventure Singapore, incorporating the second leg of Xtreme Singapore, was held in the heart of Singapore’s shopping district, Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza along Orchard Road. This place may be commonly associated with shopping and fashion, but for one day on 16th June 2007, the Singapore Sport Council has managed to transform it into a showcase of extreme and adventure sports! |

| Mentioned extreme sports and the images of guys in headgears executing dead defining stuns came naturally to minds. With such negative general perceptions of sports like Skateboarding, BMX and Motocross, it was only normal that extreme sports did not get much recognition from the general public. |

A beautiful Saturday morning dawned in San Pedro de Atacama… riotous laughter could be heard from the courtyard of La Casa de Don Tomas where the bulk of competitors were gathered for their registration checkin and who could be seen busy signing away their lives (or at least the next seven days of it!). I joined the throngs with a certain eagerness – I hadn’t yet understood fear then! My mandatory gear and food were checked and then I was placed on a measuring scale... great, I was at my ‘ideal’ weight of 45.6kg, having tried

| It was just another busy Friday night at Changi airport, filled with a bustling crowd. The usual suspects were all represented – There were lovers parting and reunited, families headed off for their pilgrimage to Disneyland and jaded businessmen perusing the latest numbers, oblivious to the romance of travel. However, off in the corner was a pair of twins, clad in bright orange and sport gear, toting enough luggage to outfit a good sized sports store. This was it, after months of preparation we were headed off to Croatia. |

| Each step of my booted feet would break through the cookie-like crust before sinking into the soft snow below. I looked up into the egg-yolk sun of a new dawn, welcoming its warming rays. Just ahead, lay an unknown route on an unknown peak. I felt a tightness in my stomach as I thought about it. |
